What can I do in the training section of the compliance portal?

You can use the portal to complete your Bloodborne Pathogens and/or HIPAA training and receive a certificate or training upon completion. The portal keeps track of your training and reminds you when it is time to take a refresher course. The portal also allows you to view the training status of all your (or your employees') current and past trainings.

How do I know if I need to complete a training session?

If you have been assigned training, you will receive an email telling you which training has been assigned. This email will contain a link to the "Training" tab under "BBP Training" in the compliance portal. Here you will need to sign in with your email address to view and complete your assigned training.

After logging in, you can view trainings that have already been started, your complete training history with links to completion certificates, and any training that is expired or about to expire.

What should I do if my information is incorrect after I've logged in?

After logging in, you will see your name, your position/title and the logout button at the top of the screen. If your name or position is incorrect, click Change (located next to the position). You can then change your name or position in the boxes that appear. Click Save to keep your changes or Cancel to discard.

How do I continue a training I have already started but not yet completed?

After logging into the "Training" section, you will be able to view trainings in progress. To complete one of these, click Continue Now, found in both the "Training in Progress" and "Training History" sections.

How do I purchase additional credits?

Click the orange Purchase Additional Credits button to use your credit card to purchase more credits.

How do I assign a new training to myself?

To assign a new training, click Start New Training. Then choose the training from the drop down menu. You can then click Start Now to immediately begin the training program. One credit is required to add this training.

What additional features are available in the training section for administrators?

As an administrator you can view all the trainees to whom you have assigned training, sorted alphabetically or by due date (using the appropriate sorting function). Trainees who have completed their training will appear on the list with green background shading, and those who have not yet completed their training will appear on the list with red background shading. You can select any trainee to view what training has been assigned to them, a record of completed training with completion certificate, and you may also assign additional training to them.

You can also view all of the assigned training that is expired, about to expire, or in progress (these lists appear in the "Expired/Expiring Trainings" and "Training in Progress" sections). From these sections you can send email reminders to trainees. (Most trainings have a 90-day expiration date.)

As an administrator, you can view how many training credits you have available and can purchase additional credits.

How do I assign additional training to a trainee?

When assigning additional training to any trainee, click Assign New Training. A box will open in which you can choose which training and select a due date. You can then click Assign Now to add that training to this trainee's record. An email will be sent to them to alert them of the new assignment.

How do I assign training to a new employee?

To assign training to a new employee, click Add New Trainee. To add the trainee, enter their first name, last name, and email address and then click Add Trainee. An email will be sent to that trainee and they will be able to begin their training.
