ICD-9 & ICD-10 FAQs
What can I do in the ICD-9 & ICD-10 section of the compliance portal?
BioServ can help you become HHS/CMS compliant and prepare for the conversion from ICD-9 to ICD-10 coming in 2013.
In this section of the compliance portal, you can search, view, store and manage both ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes, and easily convert ICD-9 to ICD-10.
How do I search for an ICD code?
You can search for any ICD using the following search options:
- Search by ICD-9, ICD-10, or ICD-9 to ICD-10 Conversion
- Search by year using the drop-down menu.
- Search by keyword(s) by typing into the search box.
After clicking the orange Search button, a list of ICDs matching your search parameters will display.
You can switch between the search options without losing your search results as long as another search has not been started.
Scroll through the list until you find the ICD you need. Click on any ICD to highlight it in the list and display it on the right side of your screen, where you can scroll through it. Your original search words will be highlighted throughout the ICD.
If this is the ICD you were searching for, you can now print it and/or add it to your ICDs.
